Independent Business

Please note that I operate as an independent groomer and rent a table within the Oxford Pet Whisperers Day care (Didcot) and The Mutt Hut (Tingewick). I am not affiliated with the salon owners or any other groomers who may work in the same space. ​

As an independent business, my prices, terms and conditions and services may differ from those of others operating within the salons. All enquiries, bookings, payments and concerns should be directed to me personally. 

By booking with me, you acknowledge that you are entering into an agreement with my business alone, not with the salon or any other individuals working within it.

Health & Medical Conditions

​

Certain grooming procedures can be stressful for pets, particularly senior, young, overweight, brachycephalic breeds, or those with medical conditions. Such procedures may reveal undiagnosed conditions or exacerbate existing ones. If your pet has open wounds, we require you to reschedule the appointment.

By agreeing to these Terms and Conditions, you grant Salon de Séraphine permission to seek emergency veterinary care for your pet, should we determine it is necessary. We will make reasonable efforts to contact you before seeking treatment, but this may not always be possible. You are responsible for all medical expenses; however, Salon de Séraphine may, at its discretion, contribute to these costs.

A full grooming session can exceed three hours and can be physically demanding and stressful for some dogs. Despite our best efforts to accommodate elderly, infirm, overweight, and young dogs, we cannot guarantee their ability to tolerate the full session. This may result in health risks or injuries such as cuts or abrasions. Salon de Séraphine reserves the right to discontinue grooming at any time if we believe continuing would harm the dog. In such cases, payment is due in full upon collection of your dog.

Vaccinations

​

Proof of vaccinations is not required for grooming services, but we recommend vaccination against Leptospirosis, DHPP (required by law), and Kennel Cough (required by Oxford Pet Whisperers). By using our services, you acknowledge that an unvaccinated dog may expose itself and others to potential health risks. Salon de Séraphine is not responsible for any illness contracted by your dog.

Fleas & Ticks

​

If your dog is known to have a parasitic infestation, we ask that you reschedule the appointment until the infestation has been treated. A minimum of 72 hours' notice is required to avoid a cancellation charge. If fleas are found during grooming, we will use flea shampoo and disinfect our premises and equipment, with an additional charge of £15-£25. If ticks are found, a removal fee of £5-£10 will apply. Salon de Séraphine is not responsible for any infections or irritations caused by fleas and ticks or their removal.

Coat Condition

​

Salon de Séraphine prioritizes animal welfare over appearance. If we assess your dog’s coat to be neglected and believe that dematting would cause undue stress or harm, we will clip the coat in accordance with the Animal Welfare Act 2006. While we will aim to notify you of any matting issues, if the condition is not apparent until the grooming begins, we will proceed in the best interests of the dog’s welfare. By agreeing to these Terms and Conditions, you acknowledge and accept the following:

 

De-Matting Disclaimer

​

Under the Animal Welfare Act 2006, prolonged de-matting causing pain or suffering is prohibited. We will only attempt to de-mat 5% of a dog’s coat (equivalent to a 50p-sized area). For excessive matting requiring more than 15 minutes of de-matting, we will clip the dog’s coat short. If the coat is severely matted, we will advise referral to a vet. Additional charges may apply for dematting, depending on the severity. Clipping a matted coat may reveal skin irritations or health conditions, and extra care will be taken during this process. Behavioural changes, such as scratching, head shaking, or scooting, may occur and we recommend seeking veterinary advice if these persist.

Additional Charges

​

De-matting may incur additional charges ranging from £5-£30, depending on the severity, the time required, and any extra products used.

Behavioural Charges

 

Owners must inform Salon de Séraphine of any aggressive, anxious, or nervous behaviour their pet may exhibit. We reserve the right to refuse service if we believe the pet poses a danger to itself or others. If your pet causes injury, you agree to cover all related medical costs, equipment damage, and loss of earnings. If behavioural issues arise during grooming, we reserve the right to stop the session, with payment in full due upon collection of the pet.

Noisy Dogs

​

As Salon de Séraphine is based within the premises of Oxford Pet Whisperers day care centre and The Mutt Hut, we will also have to abide by their rule of no loud/barking dogs. We aim to maintain a calm grooming environment and will do our best to keep dogs calm, and some vocalisation is inevitable however excessive barking may indicate that Salon de Séraphine is not the right fit for your dog and future appointments may have to be cancelled as a result.

Timekeeping/Cancellations

 

We operate on a strict schedule to ensure quality 121 care. if you are early we may not be able to grant immediate access and would ask that you wait until your allocated time. This also applies for arriving early to collect your dog from their appointment. This allows us to carry out our services to clients with minimal disruption. 

​

If you arrive more than 15 minutes late, we may have to cancel the appointment for welfare reasons. In such cases, a no-show fee equal to the full grooming cost will apply. If you are late but the appointment can still go ahead, a fee of £10 per 15 minute block will apply. 

If you are more than 15 minutes late for collection, a late collection fee of £10 per 15-minute block will apply.

Appointments can be changed or cancelled up to 72 hours before the scheduled appointment time at no charge. Cancellations made within 72 hours will incur a 100% fee. Multiple cancellations or no-shows may result in the cancellation of future appointments until fees are paid.

Pricing/Payment

​​

Quotes provided in advance are estimates only and should be used as a guide. The final price may vary depending on factors such as your dog's coat condition, size, behaviour and any additional time or work required during the groom. These factors include but are not limited to:

• Overweight or oversized dogs (I use scales to check dogs' weights for accurate pricing)

• Neglected coats

• Aggressive or nervous dogs

• Fleas or ticks

• Late drop off/collection

We always aim to inform you of any changes to the expected cost where possible. By proceeding with the appointment, you acknowledge and accept that the final price may differ from the original estimate.

Payment for all services are required in full on or before collection of your dog, unless otherwise agreed in advance. 

The following payment methods are accepted:

• Cash

• Bank Transfer

Bank transfer details will be provided on the invoice. Invoices are issues prior to the end of the groom, via Text, and must be settled before your dog is collected.

Late or non-payment may result in refusal of future bookings. Please ensure you are prepared to make the payment promptly upon collection.

General

​

We cannot groom dogs that are pregnant, nursing, or in season. If your dog is in season, you must notify us 72 hours in advance to avoid the cancellation fee. If we discover your dog is in season during the appointment, we will cease the grooming process, and you will be required to pay the full grooming fee. Salon de Séraphine is not liable for contact with an intact male dog during a dog in season's visit. We also do not provide grooming services for dogs listed under the Dangerous Dogs Act.

Use of Photos and Media

 

By using our services, you agree that photos and videos may be taken of your dog during their grooming session. These images may be used by Salon de Séraphine for promotional purposes, including but not limited to sharing on social media, our website, advertising materials, and other marketing channels.

We will make every effort to respect your preferences, and if you would prefer that your dog’s images are not used in such ways, please inform us in writing prior to your grooming session. We value your privacy and will honor any request to opt out of such media use.

At-Home Cat Nail Clipping 

​

Eligibility

Cats must be in good health and not aggressive or highly reactive to handling.

Kittens must be over 8 weeks old.

Booking & Availability

Home visits are only available on the first Monday of every month and you must be within 30 miles of Brackley.

Appointments must be pre-booked; same-day requests are not available.

Pricing

Nail clipping service: £15

Travel charge: 

~Under 10 miles - £10
~10-15 miles - £20
~15-20 miles - £25
~20-30 miles - £35

Cancellations & Missed Appointments

Appointments can be changed or cancelled up to 72 hours before the scheduled appointment time at no charge. Cancellations made within 72 hours and missed appointments will incur a 100% fee. Multiple cancellations or missed appointments may result in the cancellation of future appointments until fees are paid. 

Safety & Handling

The cat must be secured in a small, quiet room prior to the visit to minimise stress.

If the groomer is unable to safely handle the cat due to aggression or extreme stress, the appointment may be terminated. Payment in full will still be due. 

 Liability

While all care is taken, Salon de Séraphine cannot be held liable for scratches, stress reactions or pre-existing conditions that may be aggravated during handling.

Owners must disclose any health or behavioural issues in advance. 

If your cat causes injury, you agree to cover all related medical costs, equipment damage, and loss of earnings.

Payment

Payment is due on the day of the appointment via cash or bank transfer.

Hold Harmless Agreement

​

By using our services, you agree to hold Salon de Séraphine, its owners, employees, and affiliates harmless from any liability arising from any condition, known or unknown, of your pet. This agreement supersedes any previous contracts and is applicable to all pets groomed at Salon de Séraphine.

To provide our services, we must collect and store a limited amount of your personal information. This information will be stored in accordance with applicable data protection laws and will never be shared with third parties.
